Has anyone been to Phnom Penh & Angkor Wat? I'm hoping to go this year and wonder whether it's viable in May (or whether it's just too hot!).
Also, can you travel easily between the two places? How long does it take?
Thanks.

I have friends who made that trip and I was told that you can fly from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap without too much trouble. Siem Reap is quite close to Angkor Wat.
If you go in May, be prepared to sweat. You'll be going at the start of the rainy season and you can expect high humidity with temperatures in the mid 90s. April is probably the hottest month, and May is hot and rainy. The best time to visit is between November and January when the temperature, humidity and rain are not really a factor.

We were in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap during August last year, when the lack of crowds more than made up for the less than perfect weather. We flew between PP and SR with Siem Reap Airlines and then from SR to BKK with Air Bangkok - short flights on time and both comfortable and efficient. In fact, on the 45 min flight to BKK we were even served a hot meal - quite an achievement we felt.
Both Cambodian airports were new and very efficiently run, we were impressed.
Would recommend the trip wholeheartedly. We had a magical time.
