Let's start a thread to document any upgrades or amenities that were given during stays hotels using your LHW membership.
Be sure you include anything you did to help secure the upgrade. For instance, did you mention it was a special occasion, or do something during the booking process that may have helped?
Also, photos are encouraged, especially for amenities.
Note that this is only for Leading Hotels of the World. All other loyalty program upgrades and amenities should go into separate or new threads.
I'll go first:

2 night stay at The Alex Hotel in New York City
UPGRADE
Upgraded from Deluxe Queen Room to Junior Suite Queen Room: I asked if n upgrade was possible when I stopped by to drop off my bags earlier in the day before a checkin was even possible. When I returned later that evening, they said I had been upgraded to a Junior Suite.AMENITIES
Cookies and a bottle of good red wine....The room was very nice, but it was a smallish Junior Suite. However, it did have a small kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator in it. But, it lacked a full-size dresser. The Queen-sized bed was oddly made even smaller due to the headboard taking 5 or 6 inches up of the top of the bed. Our feet were hanging off the edge of the bed!
