I have never been on a cruise but my kids (13 and 10) really want to go on one of the huge cruise ships. We can only go Xmas holidays so it looks like it has to be Caribbean and we only have 7 days spare. I am told Princess or Celebrity are the best, but I really know nothing about it and am personally not that excited about it.... However some friends have told me in the past that they have had an unexpectedly great time and so we'll give it a go.
I'd be very grateful if anyone can tell me what are the best ships / companies, what to look for / look out for. Many thanks. -

You should add Crystal Cruises to your list. They only have two ships and they are a little smaller than the mega ships from the larger cruise lines. But, they really do a great job with kids, especially on school holidays when they go all out on their Juniors program. But, it's tastefully done in a way where you don't feel like you are in a floating circus. They also have adjoining staterooms for kids to stay in.
