South Beach Special Occasion Restaurant?

    I am surprising my husband with a weekend getaway to Key Biscayne for his 40th birthday in early June. We are staying at the Ritz Carlton, and will be within driving distance to South Beach. Can anyone recommend a special place for his birthday dinner that is not too night club-oriented? He is a foodie, so any genre of cuisine will work. Thanks!

    We also had a nice birthday celebration in South Beach and chose to dine at Hotel Delano. After dinner, we went out by their incredibly lovely pool area and had more drinks by the pool. www.delano-hotel.com

    I still stand by my short write-up on Prime One Twelve as a great place to go. I would definitely recommend it for a special birthday dinner--whether you have a group or just for two. But you need to make a reservation either way.
