I am likely going to be visiting Singapore for business early next year, and have the option to choose my hotel while having some time for dining and sightseeing. Recommendations for would be greatly appreciated if anyone has been. Thank you so much.
I stayed at the legendary Raffles Hotel ( http://singapore.raffles.com/ ) many years ago and found it to be a wonderful experience. If you're interested in history and charm, Raffles is the only place to stay when you're in Singapore. Ernest Hemingway was probably the bar's most famous customer at Raffles, and other notables who stayed at the hotel included Somerset Maugham and Rudyard Kipling. When I was there, my room was spacious and elegant and the service was memorable. I'd recommend it highly.
If you stay at Raffles, years from now, you'll remember your stay there fondly. If you stay somewhere else, it'll just be another hotel room.
