We're looking for a funky, eclectic place to stay in Florence with bfst and free internet. Web searches suggest these 2 places as possibilities.
Any firsthand experience or recommendations elsewhere would be much appreciated. Grazie mille. -

If I had to choose between the two, I would pick JK Place. I personally like Borghese Palace Art Hotel.

Can't comment on Continentale but I really liked JK Place.

Those are in fact the two most attractive hotels in Florence. What surprised me about both is that they don't offer a restaurant, although that's probably a good idea since it forces you to leave the hotel and explore the city's dining options.
Continentale has a wonderful rooftop bar that makes it stand out from the competition, though. -

In my opinion, the best two places to stay in Florence - by far - are the Villa San Michelle (on the outskirts of the city) and the Hotel Regency (in the center of town). They've both been the subject of previous Extravigator posts, so I'll say no more:

Also, they both have great restaurants!
