Best Deals on Luxury Hotels
  • Does anybody else notice the incredible deals on luxury hotels these days? Even the NY Times ran a story the other day on how occupancy in the resilient Manhattan market was below 80%. And I'm suddenly finding prices I could almost swallow on five star properties that I wouldn't dare set foot in a year ago. The best deal I've found so far-- $400 off, a night, for the St. Regis Aspen. Anybody else find anything good?
  • I found a good deal at the Four Seasons in Prague. The promotional rate they are touting is $195 euros for a standard room. I'm going next month and my plan is to get upgraded to a riverview at the same price. :) Wish me luck!
  • As always there are great deals in Argentina and Uruguay but what I surprised to see is that both Four Seasons Hotels in Carmelo and Buenos Aires are offering a combination deal for seven nights. You stay four nights at one and three at the other and they are throwing in one spa treatment for each guest, daily breakfast, two dinners and transportation between Buenos Aires and Carmelo. I called to ask the price and they told me that it was $1100 per person based on two people traveling which is unbelievably cheap. It comes out to around $300 per day but it is including a lot so you really can't beat it.

Also, I reserved the Four Seasons Budapest yesterday for only 210 Euro per night which is a great deal compared to the 468 Euro per night I paid in August.
  • LastMinuteTravel.com is doing an interesting promotion where for an unannounced 15 minute period between now and Feb, the rate for hotels booked through their site is just $1 a night. The thing is you don't know when it will occur, so you have to keep checking back or sign up for their email hints!
  • Certainly, because of ongoing economic phase many luxury hotels slashed down their tariffs but the benefit comes to the customer through travel agencies. So, if you are looking for really a best deal on luxury hotels, you may visit http://travel.justluxe.com/luxury-hotels/North-America__United-States_-_Northeast_-_NY/index.html also, which I have tried.

  • Unbelievable! Things have gotten so bad that average room rates for luxury hotels in San Francisco have dropped to about $150 per night, according to this article:

With room rates like this, there'll be plenty of money left to dine at the finest restaurants in the Bay area.
  • With the warm weather coming and the H1N1 Swine Flu scaring off most tourists from traveling to Mexico there are now some incredible deals being offered by some of the best Mexican luxury hotels if you have the courage to take advantage of them!
  • There's a slew of travel websites popping up with deals but I like this one, as they remain true to their luxury boutique style - whilst offering up to 40% discount - plus you get the planning service thrown in: http://www.tortribe.com
  • According to this recent article, as hotel occupancy rates continue to languish, the Starwood Hotels & Resorts chain is now offering discounts as high as 50%, prompting fears of a "rate war":

  • There are so many sites that offer deals on luxury hotel deals these days but I think Off & Away offers the best deals hands down on stays in only Suites at luxury 4 & 5 star hotels. For example, I saw on the site today that 2 nights at The Strand hotel in New York went for $19.20!
