My husband and I are looking for a resort or ranch that has excellent horse back riding. Our only other requirement is that it must have excellent accommodations. But, having access to a wide range of horses with varying levels of skill is most ideal. I'm not sure what's considered to be among the best, but I figure someone here aught to know.

I suppose you are asking about places in the United States, but I would recommend you to visit the Estancias in Argentina. I found these ones that are really great:

Accomodation is very good, and you will have the chance to ride the best polo horses in the world, take polo lessons, or simply ride along the trecks.

There are many more estancias, especially in the Patagonia, so let me know if you want more information.

Location is not really an issue. Something outside of the States would be even better. Thanks.

I loved the horseback riding at Explora Hotel Salto Chico in Torres de Paine, Chile. There were two location options and the scenery was magnificent. I ride occasionally, but am not an expert; some people there, however, were novices and it seemed as if they had horses for both more experienced and novice riders.

    Thanks from: abeam
