    Death Valley National Park has a 4-star hotel! Furnace Creek Inn & Resort

    Las Vegas - Wynn, Bellagio, THEhotel, Green Valley Ranch, etc.

    I especially like Hotel Bel Air, since it FEELS like you're not in L.A., but you're (technically) in L.A. County... Just beautiful.

    how about the malibu beach inn? just got a redo by david geffen, i think. or some hollywood hotshot. but it really is a nice place to "get away". even before the redo....

    Bacara in Santa Barbara is gorgeous. Downtown Santa Barbara is adorable. Definitely a nice place to cruise around on a 3-4 day weekend.
